Catherine Tanihu
AttorneyOriginally from the Greater Accra Region of Ghana, West Africa, Catherine Lina Tanihu earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with Philosophy from the University of Ghana, Legon. She then earned her Juris Doctor from Drake University Law School in Des Moines, Iowa, where she was recognized with the Public Service Certificate Award, Social Justice and Public Interest Lawyering Certificate, Cady Law Opportunity Fellowship, and Edwin Earle Ferguson Silver Award.
During law school, Catherine demonstrated a strong commitment to public service and advocacy. She served as a Student Attorney at the Drake Refugee Clinic and volunteered with the Iowa Migrant Movement for Justice and Nisaa Africa Family Services. In addition, she was Research Assistant to the Honorable Retired Romonda Belcher and held leadership positions as Secretary of Drake Law Women and University Representative for the Black Law Student Association.
Catherine is committed to providing skilled, client-centered representation in all areas of immigration law. She works diligently to protect her clients’ rights and to help them navigate the complexities of the immigration system with confidence.
